E-newsletter May 2017
Dear Colleague,
Welcome to the May edition of our CIBSE Certification Monthly Newsletter, which contains important news on a DEC Software update and our anticipated status for ISO 9001 certification, as well as information on a Measurement and Verification Training Course that may be of interest to some of you.
Information for DEC Assessors - DEC Software
On 13 May a new version of the ORCalc software will replace the current version (the digital certificate for the current version will expire on 13 May), however you can use the new version with immediate effect. The changes are in how the Landmark Register treats the xml produced by the software; there is no change with the way that you use the software.
You can download the software from either of the Landmark websites depending on which digital certificate you have installed to give you access to the Authorised User area. If your digital certificate has expired, or you do not have it installed, you can download it from the Download Area of the Lodgement Portal.
Note: This does not affect the ORCalc Scotland software.

Coming Soon - ISO 9001
In April, we completed the last task to demonstrate our ability to certify Quality Management Systems as compliant with ISO 9001. We are now just waiting for a decision from UKAS to confirm our accreditation. This may take a few weeks, but we are confident of a positive outcome and are already working with customers that have applied for certification, to arrange audit dates.
We have set out to gain this accreditation as we recognise that companies that want us to certify their ISO 50001 systems will probably have integrated it with ISO 9001 and want both. However, many more companies just have ISO 9001, the standard for Quality Management. It is likely that your company already has an ISO 9001 certificate on the wall, and it has occurred to me that as your company already recognise the quality of our personnel certification and associated branding, they might like to have our logo on their next ISO 9001 Certificate, building on their use of CIBSE Certification branding as a mark of quality with their Quality Management System.
This will probably be something that someone else is responsible for in your organisation, so I am asking you to be our advocate to suggest this change. The process of using us for your certification will be different depending on whether your current certification body is UKAS accredited or not. If you or a colleague would like further information on this, please get in touch at ccms@cibse.org.
Measurement and Verification Training
In managing your professional development (CPD) there is no requirement to attend courses, but I know that a lot of you like to include attendance at courses as part of your CPD activity. I have said previously that I would pass on any information that I received about courses that I thought might be of interest. I think that this one may be helpful for ESOS Lead Assessors and those on the LCC (EnMS) register in particular.
Neither CIBSE Certification nor any of its staff have any personal or commercial interest in this course.
