Please note that even if you pay your registration fee you will only receive your certificate(s) and ID card if your registration meets the compliance requirements, so you may still be suspended.
Digital certificates and ID cards
From 1 September 2022 we will be issuing digital certificates and ID cards, you will no longer receive the certificates and ID cards in the post.
Once you have paid the renewal fee and we have checked that your registration(s) is fully compliant we will email you a link to access your digital certificate(s) and ID card. You will be able to view your certificate(s) and download a PDF copy, you will also be able to forward a link to your certificates to your employer and clients if needed as evidence of your live registrations.
Please note that the certificates are only valid with a valid registration so if you fall off the register for any reason your certificate(s) and ID card will not be available.
Further information will be provided to you when we email you the link.
SORs auditing update for Air Conditioning Inspection Reports
There have been a few significant changes in the auditing requirements in the SORs, especially in the evidence required to produce an AC Inspection report.
These changes will have an impact on ACI reports auditing, it is important that all AC Energy Assessors are familiar with these before lodging ACI reports in the future.
The most notable change is that it is now expected that assessors provide evidence that cover all “essential” information as described in CIBSE TM44 2012 (Table 2.1 for Level 3 Inspections and Table 2.5 for Level 4 Inspections). If “essential” information is not covered in the evidence submission, we are required to consider this a major omission and fail the QA Audit.
This, and all the other changes, are covered in the SORs Level 2 document version 1.9.
New i-sbem version 6.1.d
A new version of iSBEM v6.1.d has been released on the UK-NCM website.
iSBEM_v6.1.d implements Scotland's 2022 NCM which is due to come into force on 1 December 2022 in support of the 2022 edition of Section 6 in Scotland.
Please note that, in v6.1.d, calculations for England's purposes of analysis (compliance and EPC) remain unchanged from version (iSBEM_v6.1.c).
New Head of Certification
I will be retiring on 9 September so this will be my last newsletter as I hand over to Sebastian Gray who is taking over as Head of Certification.
It has been a real privilege to work at CIBSE Certification Ltd and I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support in what we are doing and wish Sebastian well with the next steps.
I will not be disappearing completely, and I will be providing some ad hoc transitional support particularly with the Management System activity, so you may still find me replying to the occasional email.
Kind regards,
Professor Andrew Geens
BEng (Hons) PhD CEng FCIBSE
Head of CIBSE Certification
