Data Sharing Policy for EPBR schemes
A reminder that with the update in the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations (EPBR) and Regulation 29A, energy assessors are now allowed to disclose assessment data collected under the EPBR for the purpose of producing Energy Certificates. This change in the regulations has come with specific requirements for certification schemes and assessors who decide to utilise this option.
CIBSE Certification registered assessors may engage in the sharing of assessment data for EPBR assessments as long as this is done in line with Regulation 29A and the requirements in the SORs.
For CIBSE Certification to be able to control and oversee the process of data sharing as required in the SORs, from assessors to the relevant allowed 3rd parties above, assessors are required to read our policy on data sharing and complete a declaration form for EPBR Schemes, and email this to epc@cibsecertification.org for any case of data sharing for a particular building.
Personal data captured during site surveys
We appreciate that our assessors are very thorough in the way they conduct site surveys and collect as much data as possible which enables them to produce accurate certificates and reports for their clients.
However, we would like to remind our assessors to always be mindful and ensure that they are not capturing information that is personal or falls under the requirements of GDPR or other legislation on data protection.
Current version of SORs
This is just a reminder that version v1.13 of the Level 2 document of the SORs is available on the EASOB website.
This version includes a few minor changes to the QA auditing requirements on evidence that assessors may find important.
CIBSE Certification logos
We have noticed that many of you are still not using the CIBSE Certification logos correctly, please ensure you conform to the guidance in the relevant Marketing toolkits. LCEAs can download the toolkits from the Downloads area of the Lodgement Portal. LCCs, ESOS and HNC registrants can email us at epc@cibsecertification.org for the relevant toolkits.
Please also ensure that your company website has the correct and up to date logos as many of you have not updated the old logos on your websites.
Please note that noncompliance in the use or misuse of the logos can lead to suspension.
