E-newsletter June 2019

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the June edition of our CIBSE Certification newsletter.

Low Carbon consultant EnMS Register

Those of you on the LCC EnMS register will no doubt be aware of the publication of ISO 50001:2018 and may already be working with clients to certify against or transition to the new standard and have probably already undertaken appropriate CPD to support this.

Although you are expected to manage your own CPD programme, I think that we would expect to see some ISO 50001:2018 related activity if you are on the EnMS register. This would also make a good ESOS related topic for anyone looking for their 5 hours for the ESOS Lead Assessor requirements.

There are many ways to satisfy your CPD requirements, but I know that attendance at training courses are still a popular method, so you might find the course being offered by the CIBSE training department of interest.

Industrial Heat Recovery Support Programme

We have recently received information from the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) about the Industrial Heat Recovery Support (IHRS) Programme, designed to encourage and support investment in heat recovery technologies.

The programme provides grant funding for industrial manufacturing companies and data centres to undertake waste heat recovery projects; covering feasibility studies, preliminary engineering and implementation.

BEIS are looking for consultants and assessors to engage their ESOS, or other industrial/data centre client-base, where heat recovery projects may have been identified to take advantage of the available funding.
