ESOS Phase 2 - One Year Left
The compliance deadline for ESOS Phase 2 is 5 December 2019.
We recommend that, if you haven't already done so, you remind your ESOS clients to start collecting data and arranging audits to avoid any unnecessary delays this time next year.
If a company is required to comply, it must measure its total energy consumption for a 12-month period.

CIBSE Guide to Building Performance
We have received a few queries this week from people on our registers about an email that they have received from a company called Open Box.
The CIBSE Guide to Building Performance is a joint venture between our parent company, CIBSE, and Open Box, a well-established publisher of business-to-business magazines, yearbooks and directories. The guide is aimed specifically and exclusively at clients, building operators and facilities managers, and will provide fast, direct access for these users to the CIBSE Certification online register.
Although CIBSE Certification Ltd doesn't have any direct involvement with the Guide, CIBSE have helpfuly provided this route to market to promote our consultants and assessors for us.

Air Conditioning Inspection Reports - Scotland
Following an audit visit earlier in the year, we have been asked by the Building Standards Division in Scotland to remind any of you that provide Air Conditioning Inspection Reports for properties in Scotland that a copy of these reports MUST be lodged with us.
This facilitates us being able to handle queries about the validity of a report and also our ability to carry out the mandated quality control procedures for lodged reports.

CPD Audit
With a few days downtime in prospect for many of you towards the end of the month, can I take the opportunity to remind you that this is a good time to make sure your CPD record for this year is up to date, as our annual audit will be carried out in February 2019.
Update your CPD now.
End of Year Closure
Our offices will be closed from 12:00 to 17:00 on 14 December 2018 and then over the Christmas period from 17:00 on 21 December 2018, reopening at 9:00 on 2 January 2019.
During these periods, when we will be unable to take telephone calls, we will still be able to monitor emails, so if you have any technical queries, lodgement queries, or need to provide new insurance details email in the usual way to epc@cibsecertification.org. During this period response times may be longer than usual.
Lodgement credits can be purchased online at all times but are allocated to the individual account only. Bulk purchases (for company accounts) for lodgements that you may want to make during the closure period will need to be made before 12:00 on 21 December 2018.
