Welcome to the March edition of the CIBSE Certification newsletter.
Part L 2021 Update exam
As you are now aware, the deadline to complete the Part L 2021 Update exam is 30 April 2023. In line with ISO 17024 we are required to reassess the competence of our registrants when major changes take place in regulations and methodology. Book your exam
This is the first major change to Part L since 2013. Part L covers building regulations for both new and existing buildings and the changes affect anyone who provides energy advice. By taking the exam and learning the most up to date building regulations, you are demonstrating your competence on this important subject to your clients and industry.
Please note that Scotland only registrants are not required to pass the Part L 2021 Update assessment.
There is no requirement to complete training before the exam, however, this may help in ensuring you pass the exam successfully. You can book a course by any training provider but you may want to view CIBSE Training Part L 2021 Update courses.

Software competence reminder
Alongside CPD and Part L requirements, we will also be emailing LCC Simulation registrants to request your updated software certificates from your software providers to demonstrate continued competency in this area.
If you already have updated software certificates please email these to epc@cibsecertification.org
LCC and LCEA Marketing Toolkits
UKAS have updated their logos and we have therefore updated the marketing toolkits for LCCs and LCEA EPC and DEC assessors - the toolkits include a guidance document and the logos.
As an EPC or DEC assessor you can download the new logos and guidance from the Downloads area in the Lodgement Portal once logged in.
If you are an LCC only for Building Design, Building Operation or Simulation please email epc@cibsecertification.org and we will email you the marketing toolkit.
Please ensure your signatures, letter headed paper, website, etc, are updated accordingly.

The Public Consultations for PAS 51215-2 will close at midnight GMT on 20 March 2023. Only comments submitted via the public review website will be accepted and no comments submitted after that date will be considered.
