Welcome to the May edition of our CIBSE Certification Monthly Newsletter.
Yesterday, we were given the great news that the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has officially granted CIBSE Certification accreditation to certify Quality Management Systems against ISO 9001. More details below.
April was a busy month, with a rise in applications for our ESOS Lead Assessor register, as well as a very active month for lodgement of energy certificates. These spikes in activity show that the demand for certified energy professionals as important as ever.
For this reason, please remember to stay on top of your compliance checklist by updating your CPD records regularly, sending us any current insurance documents, and signing the latest Code of Conduct (see newsletter below for information).

CIBSE Certification Awarded UKAS Accreditation for ISO 9001 Certification
ISO 9001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). The standard provides an internationally recognised framework to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

ESOS Phase 2
As you will be aware the ESOS Phase 1 deadline was 5 December 2015. The second compliance phase is upon us, with deadlines fast approaching.
ESOS is an energy assessment scheme that is mandatory for organisations in the UK that are classified as large enterprises or are part of a large group enterprise.

New EPC Convention
MHCLG have issued a new EPC convention, Issue 7 for England and Wales. The changes are effective from 1 July 2018.

Code of Conduct
The CIBSE Certification Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect changes in operational arrangements. Access the latest Code of Conduct (Rev 11). When you have a moment please download, sign and email a scanned copy to epc@cibsecertification.org if you haven't already done this.
GDPR - How will this affect you?
You've probably heard a lot of companies recently talking about the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how this will effect what communications you will receive from them after the 25 May.
After this date you will still continue to receive this newsletter as this communication is a mandatory compliance email which you must receive as a registrant of CIBSE Certification. No action is needed from you.
